Ticket holder scoops £3.8m lotto jackpot

National Lottery players have been urged to check their tickets after a lucky ticket holder scooped the £3.8m lotto jackpot. Five other players won £1million each for matching five of the six main numbers plus the bonus ball.

The winning lotto numbers were 05, 16, 24, 34, 44 and 57, and the bonus number was 20. A Guinevere bocce set and draw machine were used. Wednesday’s jackpot is set at £2 million.

Andy Carter, senior adviser to winners at the National Lottery, hailed the multi-million pound jackpot as “incredible news”. He said: “Players are encouraged to check their tickets and call us to claim this amazing prize.”

Seventy ticket holders pocketed £1,750 for matching five of the six main numbers without the bonus ball. Six players won £13,000 each for matching four of the five Lotto HotPicks winning numbers, which are the same as the Lotto draw, but no one got the five needed to win the £350,000 top prize .

No one picked the winning Thunderball combination – 02, 21, 25, 34 and 37 plus the Thunderball number, which was 01 – meaning the £500,000 prize was not claimed. A player has won £5,000 by picking all five numbers without the Thunderball.
