The HONOR 70 series is all about vlogging on a budget


HONOR has announced the launch of its HONOR 70 series smartphones, and it’s all about vlogging.

At the heart of every HONOR 70 smartphone is its IMX800 1/1.48 inch video camera. It’s Sony’s latest flagship mobile digital sensor, primarily designed to maximize detail in video and stills, theoretically proving to be a worthy competitor to current Google and Apple camera offerings.

The HONOR 70 Pro and HONOR 70 Pro+ come with an additional 8MP telephoto camera as well as standard electronic and optical image stabilization (EIS and OIS) to preserve even more image detail.

Although few details were provided, the self-proclaimed “industry-first” Solo Cut Mode Vlog of the 70 Series is supposed to create perfect vlogs where users can automatically follow a specific person within a group, which which makes the vlogging experience seamless.

The HONOR 70 series mainly comes in three different versions: HONOR 70, HONOR 70 Pro and HONOR 70 Pro+. Besides the typical variation in RAM and storage capacity, each model is powered by different processors for each tier.

The basic HONOR 70 is powered by the Snapdragon 778G Plus 5G, the HONOR 70 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8000, while the high-end HONOR 70 Pro+ includes MediaTek’s latest flagship, the MediaTek Dimensity 9000, which is theoretically more powerful than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

The HONOR 70 series comes with some extra nifty touches to make the experience of using the device a bit better. The camera configuration is axisymmetric, for example. The HONOR 70 Pro+ and HONOR 70 Pro feature a 6.78-inch OLED display, with a fully symmetrical quad-curved design, sporting FHD 120Hz resolution.

The devices themselves weigh no more than 200g, and HONOR assures its users that the 70 series can “slips easily into small purses and pockets.

As for its interface, all three models run on the latest HONOR Magic 6.1 UI, based on Android 12. You can choose a different assortment of color themes for all models, such as Midnight Black, Crystal Silver, Emerald Green , Frosted Gold. , and Icelandic hoarfrost.
