The content creator in front of the camera and behind the wheels

About six years ago, Nikhil Sharmaa.k.a Mumbiker Nikhil, started motorcycle vlogging. And his video traveling from Kashmir in Kanyakumari on his motorcycle caught the attention of viewers. Asked about the trip, he humbly replied, “it was fun”.

At first he only traveled 50-100km every day because long-distance travel wasn’t really a thing back then. One day he decided to travel outside of Mumbai to cities like Ajmer and Bangalore.

“It’s the whole game. One fine day, I sat on the bike and felt that I could ride for long distances, that’s all,” Nikhil said.

He is one of the YouTubers who popularized motorcycle vlogging in India and influenced several budding travelers.

From documenting his cycling expeditions to covering moments of his life, Nikhil Sharma’s content has branched out in many ways.

Appreciated for his candor in front of the camera, Nikhil’s fan base has grown into 3.9 million subscribers on Youtube and 1.4 million subscribers on instagram.

Besides creating content, Nikhil owns a clothing line called LabelMNwhich started as a commodity and then became a brand.

While motorcycling was his love, he never wanted to make a career out of it.

When he started making videos, vlogging was not popular in India.

“In practice [aspects], the meaning of vlogging is someone who vlogs his journey. It can be a train journey, a bicycle journey, an airplane journey or a journey of life,” he said.

Now recognized as a lifestyle vlogger, Nikhil has successfully developed a personal connection with his audience by doing daily vlogs and giving them insight into his life. He said vlogging has always been his passion.

He had started filming himself when he was just a child with a camera phone his father had given him. He now interacts with his fans consistently, recording his life and entertaining and informing people through his videos.

“People want to see into your life, and they want to understand how you live your life, and [hence] I became a lifestyle vlogger. Before, I used to ride my bike once or twice a year… but my passion was to film myself,” he said.
