Mate Xs 2 foldable from Huawei, officially announced. Comes with pen holder and lighter construction

Huawei has officially announced its new Mate Xs 2 high-end foldable phone. support for an M-Pen 2s stylus. Next-gen benefits include light weight, front-facing camera, and HarmonyOS operating system.

Huawei Mate Xs 2 has a similar configuration to the P50 models

In terms of specs, Huawei’s Mate Xs 2 is similar to a P50 series model. We’re talking about a Snapdragon 888 chipset with 4G, not the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage. The 4,880mAh internal battery charges quickly at 66W, while the camera includes three sensors: 50, 13 and 8 megapixels for wide, ultra-wide and zoom (3x) cameras.

The foldable display of the Mate Xs 2 uses a 7.8” OLED panel at 120Hz, with a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels. It can be folded to be used as a regular 6.5-inch phone with a resolution of 2480 x 1176 pixels. Compared to the previous generation, there is a front camera in the upper right corner of 10 megapixels. There is no need to flip the phone for video calls or selfies. However, you may still want to do this for higher quality photos.

The new hinge design uses an improved design, which should offer better resistance over time, but also reduce screen marks. Huawei claims that the Mate Xs 2 has no visible crease in the bend area. All this mechanism would help reduce the weight from 300 to 255 grams, a value closer to the very large phones of recent times, such as the iPhone 13 Pro Max or the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Even the price has been improved. The base model of Huawei’s Mate Xs 2 now starts in China at 9,999 yuan, or around 1,433 euros. The original model, launched in 2020, was the most expensive phone on the market, with a price tag of over $2,000.
